Healthy Lifestyles Programs

As part of our efforts at preventing illness and disease and promoting a healthier lifestyle, our health education staff works with the public, schools, libraries and other agencies throughout the county to develop and expand on programs designed to get you and your family up and active.  Our staff is committed to increasing the health and physical fitness level of Greene County residents.

One key project is the Greene Spaces for Fitness and Fun, a guide to recreation, wellness, and fitness opportunities for County residents.  We are always on the lookout for new and innovative programs that are of interest to our residents.  If you have ideas, please share them with us!

Greene County Food Council

A collective impact partnership between OSU Extension Greene County and Greene County Public Health. Vision: The Greene County Food Council brings people together to share ideas, network, and create a food system that:
1. Allows residents access to healthy, affordable, local food.
2. Promotes business and economic development opportunities around food (Production, aggregation, processing, preserving, selling).
3. Helps educate and guide people and policy that sustains the system through research, networking and projects.

Mission: To bring people together to support and encourage a secure, healthy, and sustainable food system.
