Healthy Lifestyles Programs

As part of our efforts to prevent illness, disease and promote healthy lifestyles, our health education team partners with schools, libraries, community members and other local organizations in Greene County to develop and expand programs that encourage individuals and families to be active. Our team is committed to bringing programming that improves health and physical fitness to Greene County residents.

One key initiative is Greene Spaces for Fitness and Fun, a guide that highlights recreation, wellness, and fitness opportunities available to Greene County residents. We are always looking for new and innovative programs that meet the needs and interests of our community and are welcome to ideas and suggestions!

Greene County Food Council

A collective impact partnership between OSU Extension Greene County and Greene County Public Health.

Vision: The Greene County Food Council brings people together to share ideas, network, and create a food system that:

1. Allows residents access to healthy, affordable, local food.
2. Promotes business and economic development opportunities around food (Production, aggregation, processing, preserving, selling).
3. Helps educate and guide people and policy that sustains the system through research, networking and projects.

Mission: To bring people together to support and encourage a secure, healthy, and sustainable food system.

Get involved: The Greene County Food Council welcomes anyone who cares about improving access and strengthening our local food system. Whether you work directly in the food system, or simple care about ensuring everyone in nutritious food, you are encouraged to attend and participate!
